Tell us about yourself and what you do!

Storytelling has been my passion for as long as I can remember. From filling notebooks as a kid to building a career in marketing, words have always been my superpower. After earning a Communications degree, gaining experience in agencies and nonprofits, and working as a social media specialist, I took a leap of faith into entrepreneurship. Now, I’m the proud Founder of Like It Marketing, a boutique social media agency helping busy business owners attract clients and boost revenue—stress-free.

Beyond marketing, I’m a God-loving, coffee-fueled wife and new mom, with a Goldendoodle named Autumn keeping life extra fun. And yes—my husband, Nick, is also our go-to photographer! 📸✨

How did your business begin?

I originally planned for Like It Marketing to be a side hustle—just some extra income while working as a social media specialist. But after months of building my brand behind the scenes, I realized I didn’t want to do this part-time—I wanted to go all in. With my husband’s support, I took a huge leap of faith, quit my stable job, and pursued entrepreneurship full-time.

Now, nearly four years later, I’m grateful for a business that gives me the freedom to work where I want, with who I want—all while growing on my own terms (with God as my business partner, of course).

What's 1 challenge you've faced and how has it effected your business? What did you do to overcome it?

For years, I turned down paid ads projects because I wasn’t trained in them—despite my marketing experience. This meant missing out on huge business opportunities. Eventually, with encouragement from my mentor, I stepped out of my comfort zone, invested in courses and mentorships, and started offering paid ads. Now, I’ve been successfully running ads for a client for over a year!

This experience taught me that growth comes from taking risks, and as a business owner, stepping outside your comfort zone isn’t optional—it’s necessary.

What's 1 success you've had since you’ve created your business? How do you feel when you look back on it?

The social media marketing world has high turnover, but I’ve been able to retain clients much longer than I expected—including one who’s been with me since day one in 2021. That kind of loyalty tells me I’m doing something right.

My ultimate goal is to help business owners grow so they can support their families and build the life they dream of. When clients stay with me long-term, it’s proof that I’m making a real impact—and that’s the most rewarding feeling.

What's the best piece of advice you could give someone looking to grow their business?

There are countless ways to grow a business, but who you surround yourself with will be your greatest asset. Find mentors who inspire you, put yourself in the right rooms, and invest in networking opportunities. Build relationships with those living the life you aspire to—and most importantly, stay connected to God, your ultimate provider.

What's a pivot you've made in your business?

I launched an online course that, to be honest, flopped—but I don’t regret it. While it wasn’t worth the investment, it pushed me to develop new skills like video editing, script memorization, and landing page design.

After fewer sign-ups than expected, I pivoted back to done-for-you services, where I thrive. I may revisit online courses in the future, but for now, I’m focused on what I do best—helping business owners grow through expert social media marketing.

When are you at your happiest?

I’m happiest in life’s simple moments—tucking my child into bed, kissing her goodnight, then cuddling up with my husband before falling asleep. I find joy in Sunday morning worship, sipping coffee at a cozy local shop, and evening walks around the block.

It’s the little things that make life feel full. 💛

What do you tell yourself when things get difficult?

Whenever life gets tough, I remind myself of a quote I heard in the movie, The Help: “You are kind, you are smart, you are important.” It may sound simple, but it’s my mantra that helps me stay grounded.

I also meditate on my favorite Bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

These words keep me going.

What’s 1 personal goal you've set for yourself this year?

I’m making a strong effort to take daily walks. They’re great for my mental health, my baby gets some sunshine, and my hubby and I get quality time together with a no cell-phone rule—it’s our tech-free time. Plus, I’m hoping to shed some of the baby weight!

What's 1 business goal you've set for yourself to accomplish this year?

I’m focused on breaking into the Tampa Bay market—that’s why I joined Babe Crafted. Tampa is a larger city with tons of opportunities, and it’s close enough to Lakeland for me to make an impact. I’m excited to scale my business and take it to the next level. Fingers crossed!

What's the first thing you do on a Monday morning and why?

Since giving birth in December 2024, I’ve dedicated Mondays to my baby girl. We usually meet up with other mom friends to visit local parks and restaurants and chat about parenthood and business while our babies enjoy the outing. It’s been so rewarding to have one day a week focused solely on her—Mondays are for Madilynn!

Where can you be found + what will you typically be up to on a Friday night?

You’ll most likely find me in my pajamas, hanging out with my hubby and baby, watching Netflix. If we’re not doing that, we’re probably at one of our parents’ houses, enjoying their company. It’s funny how your parents become your best friends as you get older! It might not be the "coolest" answer, but I’m so content with this life.
