“Usually when I find myself getting overwhelmed, it's because I have not stopped long enough to breath. That is a signal to me that I need to schedule some time off, if not a day, at least an afternoon. I take at least few hours to unplug and do something that relaxes me like reading, or writing, or going to grab a glass of wine with a friend.”

“When business gets overwhelming, it’s essential to step back and intentionally pour into yourself. One of my favorite ways to recharge is by embracing quiet mornings. I carve out time for myself before the day begins, whether it’s through prayer, journaling, or enjoying a cup of matcha in peace. Creating that quiet space helps me center my thoughts, reflect on what really matters, and set a calm, grounded tone for the day. It’s about giving yourself permission to pause, even if only for a few minutes, to reconnect with your purpose and protect your peace.

Another way I recharge is by getting outside of my usual work environment. Sometimes, all it takes is a simple drive, windows down, favorite playlist on repeat, to clear my mind. Meeting with friends who understand the entrepreneurial journey also helps me shift my perspective. Having someone to listen, whether it’s another business owner or a mentor, can make all the difference. They offer fresh insights, encouragement, and the reminder that I’m not alone in this. Recharging doesn’t always look like big gestures; it’s in the little moments of rest, connection, and self-care that I find clarity and renewed energy to keep moving forward.”

“Like many business owners, I tend to neglect myself when I get overwhelmed and stressed, which, of course, leaves me feeling more overwhelmed and stressed. Last year, I joined Massage Envy and have done my best to stay consistent with a self-care routine. I also have a small group of girlfriends that, despite their own busy schedules, will jump on a group Facetime any time things get really bad and I need to send an SOS.”

“When my business gets overwhelming, I take time to take care of me. I specifically recharge with things that re-energize me. I love spending time with my family, but sometimes that also can get overwhelming as I am taking care of them too. So taking a step away, either in my room or outside if I can, to read my favorite book or listen to my favorite music. That space away allows me to heal from being overwhelmed and anxious.”

“The weight of burnout from 2022-2024 taught me that traditional self-care advice falls flat when you're a mom juggling deployments, household stuff, and a chronic illness. I mean, my hair was falling out, literally! Between running a business and showing up for my family, there was no option to simply 'take a break'. The mental drain was constant, and hiding under the covers wasn't an option for me. This season forced me to completely reimagine what recovery looks like: implementing systems that could run without my constant attention, learning to delegate effectively, and most importantly, giving myself permission to grow slower but more sustainably.”

"When business gets overwhelming, I recharge by intentionally stepping away to create space for myself. I prioritize activities that soothe my mind and body, like gentle movement, meditating, or journaling to process my thoughts. I also make time for what fills me up—watching or listening to something inspiring, reconnecting with loved ones, or indulging in a creative hobby that has nothing to do with work. I call this my Reset Renew Method. Meaning I take time to Reset, Explore, Shift, Embody, and Transform.

I remind myself that rest is a strategy, not a setback. By honoring my need to pause, I return to my business with clearer focus and renewed energy. I’ve learned that doing what I can, when I can, is more powerful than trying to push through, and this approach keeps me aligned with my vision without burning out."

"For me it's about finding those moments of clarity and alignment with my overall purpose. I remind myself of my WHY. Why am I doing this? I thrive on meaningful connections, so this may be going to a social or networking event. This may also mean setting better boundaries, and spending more time with my family. And finally I go back to focusing on positive 3outcomes and shifting my mindset... starting each day with gratitude.”
