Tell us about yourself and what you do!
I teach people how to be fascinating! More specifically, I help people define their brand story. I specialize at the intersection where personal brand and performance meet.
How did your business begin?
As a side hustle while I worked as a B2B sales trainer for a large telecommunications company. I jumped ship within a year and this August will be my 5th year in business.
What's 1 challenge you've faced and how has it effected your business? What did you do to overcome it?
Since I was coming from the world of workshops and facilitation, I expected that to be my bread and butter. And it was for the first year and a half. But workshops are seasonal and the sales cycles are long and finding leads & referrals was becoming increasingly difficult. At the same time, more people were asking me to coach them one-on-one. I resisted at first because I was hung up on what I expected my biz to be instead of listening to what my clients wanted. Now coaching is the driving force of my business!
What's 1 success you've had since you’ve created your business?
How do you feel when you look back on it?At the end of 2017 I landed the opportunity to create a custom sales training program for a large organization. It started as a small project and quickly bloomed into a comprehensive, multi-project contract that lasted 9 months. It was intense work the result of which is currently being rolled out to 1200+ salespeople across the US. I'm so proud that we delivered a truly custom fit sales training to this team and that I got to employ some of the most talented people I know as part of the project.
What's the best piece of advice you could give someone looking to start a business?
When you are equal parts terrified and exhilarated that's when you know you're on the right track.
What's a pivot you've made in your business?
I’ve gone from mostly workshops and some coaching to being mostly coaching and some workshops.
When are you at your happiest?
Professionally: In a room full of people working together on big ideas. Personally: sharing music and/or laughter with people. When those things converge its magic.
What do you tell yourself when things get difficult?
Ask for help. The biggest thing that held me back early in my business was not bringing in assistants and collaborators sooner.
Whats 1 personal goal you've set for yourself this year?
TRAVEL!
What's 1 business goal you've set for yourself to accomplish this year?
Content, content, content. I've been sitting on a couple of big ideas. This year they take flight.
What's the first thing you do on a Monday morning and why?
Like Chief Hopper in Stranger Things, coffee and contemplation. Weekends are usually full of activity and noise, so once everyone leaves on Monday morning I take time to enjoy the quiet and let my brain wander.
Where can you be found + what will you typically be up to on a Friday night?
Playing board games and video games with my 2 boys or watching TV with my husband. We're a house full of nerds!

My go to karaoke song is... “Change” by John Waite. Classic 80s. So fun to belt out badly.
My favorite cocktail is... A martini! Fun fact, I don't drink but I love mid-century modern martini culture.
My favorite quote is... Currently, it is "Just say yes and you'll figure the rest out later," by Tina Fey.
