3 Strategies for IMMEDIATE Brand Awareness

It seems like just everyone is using the same strategies for brand awareness.

The main one? Create a viral video.

The problem with this being your all-or-nothing strategy is that it's… probably not going to work. Not only is there no way to guarantee a viral video, but a viral doesn't equate to success.

It certainly doesn't mean more money.

The only people who garner success after their content goes viral are people who:

  • Know their brand personality

  • Know their strengths and weaknesses

  • Know how to engage and grow their (suddenly huge) audience

Going viral doesn't mean you'll get a six-figure income. In fact, it might just be your fifteen minutes of fame.

But if you learn to utilize the three strategies above, you'll know exactly what to do to boost your brand awareness.

What's Brand Recognition?

The Investopedia definition of brand recognition is "the ability of consumers to identify a specific brand by its attributes over another one."

Think of it this way: What companies (a.k.a brands) do you think of if I ask you what your favorite brand of wine is? Who is your favorite Instagram coach? What chocolate candies do you reach for in the checkout aisle?

Your answers might look like this:

  1. Barefoot (hey, no need to be fancy here), Apothic, Kendall Jackson

  2. Natasha Samuel, A Creative Co

  3. Reeses, Hershey, Snickers

These brands have managed to gain recognition in their industry. Sometimes they're only well-known within their industry (Instagram coaches), and sometimes they're recognized worldwide (Reeses).

The simple fact that you can name three brands off the top of your head when asked these questions shows that they've done their job at getting people (like you) to recognize and remember them.

Why brand awareness is important

Having people recognize you for what you do comes with all sorts of benefits.

Not only is it an ego boost, but it elaborates on the marketing strategy of like, know, and trust. People who like and know your brand well will be more inclined to trust you.

Brand awareness is essential— not because of the vanity aspects— but because it means less work for you. If you're at the top of someone's list regarding referrals, that means more followers, more content shares, and more word-of-mouth.

Without you having to lift a finger.

3 Strategies for IMMEDIATE Brand Awareness

More visibility for your business means more income and a community you can call your own. To increase your visibility, you need to focus on the brand behind the business.

Here are three strategies for brand awareness you can start using today!

Step 1: Define Your Brand Personality

Many Babe Crafted members will say they'll stop marketing themselves because they think no one is listening.

Defining your brand personality sounds complicated, but it's actually pretty simple. All you need to do is pick 3 words that describe yourself

If you're unsure, ask a few friends or family members to describe you. For example, mine would be:

  1. Caring

  2. Passionate

  3. Friendly

These 3 words should seep into every aspect of your brand.

For example, if I had a company selling jewelry, my friendliness would be apparent when I engage with my community online. Customers would pick up on (and hopefully leave a review on) my caring attributes because of my excellent customer service. My audience would recognize my passion because it shines through my products and content.

Step 2: Know Your Strengths

There's a quote from the book Atomic Habits by James Clear that really helps put this idea into perspective:

"Work hard on things that come easy."

It's natural to want to try a few different things when you first start building a business. Maybe you started as an Instagram social media manager, but then you became really good at TikTok.

Instead of trying to be an expert at both Instagram and TikTok, stick with the latter. It's what you're good at, and audiences can attribute your skills to one platform.

Clear advises that you "...work on a strategy that seems to deliver the best results 80-90% of the time and keep exploring with the remaining 10-20%."

So, you don't need to niche down. But you do need to play to your strengths.

Step 3: Build a Cult Following

Just like when you meet new friends, people will start to pick up on your (brand) personality and decide whether or not they vibe with it. Not everyone will— and that's a good thing! This is how you start building a community (or a “cult” following) that you actually enjoy talking to.

The winning recipe for your brand recognition strategy is combining your personality with the one thing you're really good at.

Here's how you can start your brand visibility strategy right now!

  1. Write down your brand's 3 personality traits.

  2. Write down 3 skills or products your brand can be known for.

That's all there is to it. Now get out there and let people see the real you
